The Dallas Cowboys have signed guard Brian Waters and placed safety Eric Frampton on injured reserve.

Waters will enter his 13th NFL season and last played in 2011 with New England. He was a Pro Bowl selection during his lone season with the Patriots, but sat out the 2012 campaign.

The 36-year-old Texas native originally signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent in 1999, but was released during training camp and signed with Kansas City in the spring of 2000.

Waters flourished over 11 seasons with the Chiefs, earning five Pro Bowl nods. The North Texas product has started all but 14 of the 179 games he has played in the NFL.

The Cowboys, who don't expect Waters to play in Sunday's opener against the New York Giants, placed Frampton on IR because of a calf injury.
