MLB sets postseason schedule

The Major League Baseball postseason will begin Oct. 1 with the National League wild card game, the league announced Tuesday.

Game 1 of the World Series is scheduled for Oct. 23, in the city of the American League champion.

The AL playoffs begin with the wild card game Oct. 2. It's the second year of the league's one-off wild card games to determine the final teams for the divisional series.

Game 1 of the two NLDS series are set for Oct. 3. The ALDS series begin a day later.

NLCS Game 1 is scheduled for Oct. 11 and the ALCS is set to start Oct. 12.

Game 7 of the World Series, if it gets that far, would be played Oct. 31.

The regular season ends Sept. 29.
