The Detroit Tigers recalled the contracts of pitchers Jeremy Bonderman and Jose Alvarez, along with catcher Bryan Holaday from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
Bonderman has gone a combined 2-4 with a 4.27 earned run average in 16 appearances, including 1-1 with a 2.51 ERA in nine games for Detroit since being acquired from Seattle in July.
The 30-year-old former first-round pick in 2001 also tossed 9 2/3 scoreless innings over seven games for the Mud Hens.
Alvarez, 24, has gone 1-4 with a 6.14 ERA in eight games (five starts) in the majors, adding an 8-6 mark and 2.80 ERA in 21 games for Toledo.
This is Holaday's third call-up to the majors this season, after a stint from June 19-30 and Aug. 14-25. He hit .280 (7-for-25) with one homer and two RBI in 12 combined games.
