The Cincinnati Bengals signed All-Pro defensive tackle Geno Atkins to a long-term extension, the team announced on Monday.
Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, the Cincinnati Enquirer has reported the two-time Pro Bowl selection will receive $55 million over five years.
Atkins, the Bengals' fourth round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft, recorded a career-high 39 tackles and 12 1/2 sacks last season. He led all defensive tackles in sacks.
The Georgia product has played in all 48 games since joining Cincinnati, racking up 116 tackles and 23 sacks.
