Truck race ends wildly

The inaugural Camping World Truck Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario didn't end with a whimper on Sunday.

While Chase Elliott won his first career truck race in just his sixth start, the 17-year-old son of champion Bill Elliott had to dump Ty Dillon to do so.

But it was the battle for third place involving Mike Skeen and Max Papis that led to the 43-year-old Italian being slapped by a woman identified as Kelly Heaphy.

Papis finished sixth in his first truck start of the season. For Skeen, who has limited NASCAR experience in the K&N West and Grand-Am Rolex Series, it was his truck debut. The 26-year-old Durham, N.C., native started third - where he was running at the time of contact with Papis - and finished 13th.

But this was not the first slapping incident for Papis this season. After a run-in with Billy Johnson at Road America in June, it was Papis doing the slapping. Johnson was lucky, however - he was still wearing his helmet.
