Chris Kluwe said Sunday that Marquette King has won the Oakland Raiders' punting job.

The Raiders were expected to announce Kluwe's release later Sunday, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

"Thanks to everyone at the Raiders for the opportunity this preseason. It was a blast," Kluwe wrote on Twitter. "[King has] got a bright future with you guys!"

"Feel like we both had a pretty strong preseason," the 31-year-old Kluwe added. "No regrets."

Kluwe signed with the Raiders in May after eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, he averaged 45 yards on 72 punts. He has only been blocked once on 623 career punts.

Kluwe is well-known outside of football as an advocate for gay marriage.
