Verona, Italy – Marek Hamsik scored twice to help Napoli maintain its perfect start to the Serie A season with a 4-2 defeat of Chievo at the Stadio M.A. Bentegodi on Saturday.
The Slovakia international opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a shot from just outside the penalty area.
Chievo managed to get on level terms in the 24th minute when Alberto Paloschi turned in a cross from Perparim Hetemaj, but Napoli's lead was restored three minutes later when Jose Callejon converted a chance from the top of the six- yard box.
Paloschi equalized once more in the 40th minute, but Hamsik claimed the match- winner in the 64th minute before Gonzalo Higuain netted an insurance goal in the 70th to see Napoli improve to six points, bringing the club to the top of the Serie A table on goal difference.
Juventus 4, Lazio 1
Turin, Italy - Juventus kept pace with Napoli at the top of the Serie A table by picking up a 4-1 victory over Lazio at Juventus Stadium on Saturday.
Arturo Vidal kicked off the match with a brace inside the opening 26 minutes.
Lazio managed to pull one back in the 28th minute through Miroslav Klose, but second-half goals from Mirko Vucinic and Carlos Tevez, as well as a red card to Hernanes, saw the home side clinch the victory to make it two wins to start the season.
