The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trimmed their roster down to 53 players on Saturday by placing kicker Lawrence Tynes and the reserve/non-football injury list and cutting 21 others.

Tynes is suffering from MRSA, a serious staff infection that has affected a toe in his right foot. He had signed with Tampa Bay this past offseason after spending his last four seasons kicking for the New York Giants.

A slew of other moves had to be made to reduce the size of the roster, so the team waived nine players from the defense, including safeties Sean Baker and Cody Grimm, cornerbacks Deveron Carr and Mason Robinson, linebackers Dom DeCicco and Ka'lial Glaud, defensive tackles Lazarius Levingston, Matthew Masifilo and Andre Neblett.

Others released were tackles Jace Daniels and Mike Remmers, long snapper Andrew DePaola, kicker Derek Dimke, wide receivers David Douglas and Chris Owusu, punter Chas Henry, tight end Danny Noble and center/guard Cody Wallace.

The Bucs also terminated the contracts of guard Roger Allen, defensive tackle Gary Gibson and wide receiver Jordan Norwood.
