Colts linebacker Kavell Conner injured his ankle in Thursday night's preseason finale and could miss a couple of weeks.

Coach Chuck Pagano told reporters of the prognosis Friday. The news comes amid speculation that Indianapolis could trade Conner, who has 36 career starts but had only one sack last season and appears to have fallen behind Pat Angerer and Jerrell Freeman — the Colts' top tacklers in 2011 and 2012 — at inside linebacker.

Pagano says rookie offensive lineman Emmett Cleary also could miss a couple of weeks with an ankle injury.

Pagano did not have an update on receiver David Reed, who left Thursday night with a concussion, or defensive back Daxton Swanson, who injured his hamstring.
