The Cleveland Indians placed outfielder Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained left Achilles tendon and recalled outfielder Matt Carson from Triple-A Columbus.
The move for Raburn is retroactive to Aug. 19, one day after the Cleveland utility man stroked a solo homer in a 7-3 loss at Oakland.
Raburn has batted .272 with 15 homers and 41 RBI in 71 games with the Tribe this season.
Over 121 games at Columbus this year, Carson batted .252 with 14 homers, 49 RBI and 14 stolen bases.
