The Arizona Cardinals have released kicker Dan Carpenter, four days after signing him to compete with Jay Feely.

Carpenter attempted one field goal, a 26-yarder that was blocked Saturday night in the Cardinals' 24-7 exhibition loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Nine other players were released by the team on Sunday — quarterback Caleb Terbush, tackle Joe Caprioglio, wide receiver Jarett Dillard, center Deveric Gallington, defensive end Cordian Hagans, linebacker Corey Jonex, defensive tackle Jonathan Mathis and cornerback Ronnie Yell.

The Cardinals also moved linebacker Dan Giordana (toe) to the reseerve/PUP list.
