Fraizer Campbell scored twice in the final 11 minutes to help lift Cardiff City to a 3-2 upset win over Manchester City in Cardiff's first home game back in the top flight in 51 years.

City struggled to break down a stubborn Cardiff side in the first half, but the visitors took the lead in the 52nd minute through Edin Dzeko, who took a pass from Sergio Aguero and lashed the ball into the top corner of the net from 25 yards.

But the hosts showed resilience and answered back on the hour mark when Aron Gunnarsson was on hand to fire home a rebound from Campbell's header.

The former Manchester United striker then scored twice in the span of eight minutes to send the Cardiff City Stadium crowd into a state of delirium.

Campbell's first goal came in the 79th minute when he bundled the ball over the goal line from close range after a Peter Whittingham corner kick.

Another set piece handed Cardiff a 3-1 lead in the 87th as Campbell was on hand at the back post to head home Don Cowie's cross.

Substitute Alvaro Negredo netted a stoppage-time goal for City to set up an anxious final few minutes for the hosts, but they were able to hold out for the massive win.

Tottenham 1, Swansea City 0

London, England - For the second successive week, a second-half penalty kick from Roberto Soldado was the difference as Tottenham claimed a 1-0 win over Swansea City at White Hart Lane.

Last weekend Soldado scored in his league debut for Spurs in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, and he duplicated that on Sunday by converting from the spot in the 58th minute after Andros Townsend was brought down inside the area by Swansea's Jonjo Shelvey.

The hosts nearly took the lead midway through the first half when Swansea defender Ashley Williams deflected a cross off his own post, leaving a rebound chance for Paulinho that was saved by goalkeeper Michel Vorm.

Spurs will be frustrated not to have scored more, but the hosts kept Swansea's attack in check and were able to easily see out the rest of the match after Soldado's goal to give the club two wins from the opening two matches.
