Detroit defensive end Willie Young says he'll avoid penalties that hurt his team after taunting New England quarterback Tom Brady.

Young's taunt resulted in a 15-yard penalty in the Lions' 40-9 win against the Patriots in a preseason game on Thursday night.

After hurrying Brady into an incompletion in the New England end zone, Young grabbed Brady by the collar and said something to him while putting his finger in the quarterback's face.

Young wouldn't disclose on Saturday what he said to Brady. Instead of facing third-and-10 deep in their own territory, the Patriots got a first down.

Young says he's ready to move on to the next game against Buffalo.

The Lions were the sixth-most penalized team in the NFL last season after finishing second and fourth in the previous two seasons.
