The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed pitcher J.J. Putz on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated right little finger.

Putz suffered the injury in the seventh inning of Friday's 4-3 loss to the Phillies. Kevin Frandsen hit a ball back up the middle that Putz tried to barehand.

In 35 appearances this season, Putz is 3-1 with a 2.43 ERA and six saves. The veteran closer spent time on the DL earlier this year with an inflamed elbow. The right-hander had since settled into a role late in games.

To fill Putz's spot on the roster, Arizona recalled pitcher Chaz Roe from Triple-A Reno. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in five games with the Diamondbacks this season.
