The Atlanta Braves acquired pitcher Freddy Garcia from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash considerations.

The 36-year-old Garcia went 3-5 with a 5.77 ERA in 11 appearances (10 starts) with Baltimore this season before being outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk in late June. He made 13 starts for Norfolk, compiling an 8-3 record with a 2.84 ERA while striking out 61 batters.

The right-hander has a 155-106 record with a 4.18 ERA in 370 career games (354 starts) with the Mariners, White Sox, Phillies, Tigers, Yankees and Orioles.

Garcia will be assigned to Triple-A Gwinnett.
