The Houston Astros placed catcher Max Stassi on the 7-day concussion disabled list on Friday.

The 22-year-old sustained a mild concussion on Wednesday after being hit by a pitch in the face during the eighth inning against the Texas Rangers. He underwent X-rays and a CAT scan at the Medical Center of Arlington after the game and underwent tests for a concussion on Thursday in Houston.

Stassi went 2-for-6 in his first two big league games with Houston this season. At Double-A Corpus Christi, he hit .277 in 76 games and was named the TOPPS Texas League Player of the Month for July.

The Astros have also selected the contract of catcher Cody Clark from Corpus Christi to replace Stassi. Clark will join the Astros in Houston for Friday's game against Toronto.
