Chicago Sky forward Sylvia Fowles and Los Angeles Sparks guard Kristi Toliver have been selected as the WNBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played from August 12-18.

Fowles earned the East's award for the seventh time in her career after averaging 19.3 points and a league-best 13.3 rebounds over three games. The sixth-year pro capped her outstanding week with a 20-point, 21-rebound performance in a win over Connecticut on Sunday, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record a 20-20 game twice in a single season.

Toliver placed second among West players with a 21.5 points-per-game scoring average, highlighted by a 28-point effort on 11-of-15 shooting to help the Sparks defeat Indiana on Aug. 16. She also made all nine of her free-throw attempts over the two games to capture her second career weekly honor.

Others considered for this week's awards included Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry, Minnesota's Seimone Augustus and Maya Moore, Seattle's Shekinna Stricklen and Tulsa's Elizabeth Cambage.
