Baltimore Orioles pitching coach Rick Adair has taken a leave of absence and will be replaced by bullpen coach Bill Castro.

There is no timetable for Adair's return and the club said only that the leave of absence was for personal reasons.

Adair joined the Orioles as bullpen coach for the 2011 season and took over as pitching coach in June of that year when Mark Connor resigned for personal reasons.

Castro is in his second season with the Orioles.

Former Oriole lefty Scott McGregor will take over Castro's bullpen coach duties on an interim basis. McGregor, winner of 138 games for the franchise from 1976-88, has been a coach in the organization for 12 seasons.
