New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma will reportedly undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday.

According to NFL.com, citing an unnamed source who was informed of the injury, Vilma opted for the minor surgery after traveling to Philadelphia on Wednesday for a second opinion. He is expected to miss the rest of the preseason, but should be ready for the Saints' Week 1 contest against the Falcons.

Vilma played in 11 games last season, starting 10, and recorded 20 tackles, one sack and one touchdown.
