The Tampa Bay Rays placed pitcher Alex Cobb on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, less than 24 hours after he earned his first win of the season.

Cobb suffered a strained left oblique muscle during Saturday's 1-0 win over Cincinnati. The right-hander departed the game after 87 pitches and having spun seven scoreless innings, scattering four hits and fanning five,

He hasn't allowed a run over his last 15 innings.

Cobb, who has an ERA of 1.89 through his first three starts this season, has not allowed a run on the road since Sept. 6 of last year at Seattle. He's gone 22 2/3 innings since giving up that run, a homer to Raul Ibanez.

The loss of Cobb is another big blow for the Rays. Matt Moore went on the 15- day disabled list Tuesday with a partially torn ligament in his left elbow.

The Rays recalled left-hander Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Durham to take Cobb's roster spot. Erik Bedard, who joined the Rays from Durham on Saturday, is expected to take Cobb's spot in the rotation.
