The New England Patriots have cut veteran wide receiver Michael Jenkins.

They've also released offensive lineman Kevin Haslam and placed offensive lineman Tyronne Green on injured reserve. Both were longshots to make the team.

The Patriots signed Jenkins on March 28 as a free agent from the Minnesota Vikings where he spent the past two seasons. He played the first seven seasons of his nine-year career with the Atlanta Falcons.

In 130 NFL games, Jenkins had 354 catches for 4,427 yards and 25 touchdowns. Last season, he had 40 receptions for 447 yards and two touchdowns. The Falcons drafted him with the 29th pick in the first round in 2004.

Haslam spent last season with San Diego after two with Jacksonville. Green played the last four seasons with San Diego.
