The Texas Rangers have acquired left-handed pitcher Travis Blackley from the Houston Astros in exchange for cash considerations.

Blackley, who was outrighted by the Astros on Saturday, went 1-1 with a 4.89 ERA in 42 relief appearances with Houston this season.

In 78 career games (23 starts) with Seattle (2004), San Francisco (2007, 2012), Oakland (2012) and Houston (2013), Blackley is 8-8 with a 5.28 ERA.

The Rangers have assigned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
