Berea, OH – Cleveland Browns running back Montario Hardesty will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday.
It is unknown which knee is going to being scoped or when he will return, but the typical recovery time on such surgeries is about one month.
For the 26-year-old Hardesty, it's another injury to a long list of issues that have plagued his football career. He is no stranger to knee injuries as he tore his left ACL in the final preseason game in 2010 and missed his entire rookie season. He also missed half of 2011 with a torn calf muscle and had his right ACL repaired when he was a freshman at the University of Tennessee.
This season, he missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury and dislocated his right thumb on Monday.
"He's knee has been nagging him for a little bit. This is unrelated to the hamstring tendon that he injured that kept him out earlier in camp," Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said.
Last season, Hardesty rushed for 271 yards and one touchdown in 13 games as a backup to Trent Richardson.
