The French Football Federation (FFF) announced Tuesday that it has canceled a two-point deduction imposed on Monaco but upheld a ruling for the club to play one match behind closed doors.

Monaco began the Ligue 1 season with a two-point deduction after a Ligue 2 match against Le Mans on May 17 concluded with spectators igniting flares and invading the pitch.

The newly-promoted side criticized the sanction as disproportionate to the infraction, and the FFF amended the penalty upon hearing a formal appeal.

Monaco's behind-closed-doors match will take place Sunday as the club hosts Montpellier at the Stade Louis II.
