Browns running back Trent Richardson says he's healthier than he's been since college. That still might not be good enough to get him into an exhibition game.

Richardson, who has been slowed by a shin injury during training camp, would like to play in Thursday's game against Detroit. Richardson was kept out of the preseason opener last week against St. Louis as a precaution, and Browns first-year coach Rob Chudzinski said the team is discussing whether to use the second-year running back this week.

Richardson said he'll respect whatever decision is made by the team.

Richardson did not play in the preseason a year ago as he was recovering from knee surgery. He says he'll be ready for the Sept. 8 opener against Miami regardless if he plays in any of the four exhibitions.
