BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Chicago Bears have signed running back Curtis Brinkley to a one-year contract.
The Bears were looking to add to their backfield behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush with Armando Allen nursing a hamstring injury.
A Syracuse product, Brinkley spent three seasons with the San Diego Chargers (2010-12) and had 227 yards rushing and 118 receiving. He also returned seven kickoffs for 149 yards.
The Bears also waived receiver Marcus Rucker on Monday.
