Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer left Wednesday's contest with the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second inning because of right forearm tightness.

Rays catcher Jose Molina called out manager Joe Maddon after Archer appeared to be showing some discomfort while making a pitch to Didi Gregorius.

Archer pleaded his case to remain in the game, which the Rays led 3-1 at the time, but was taken out for precautionary reasons. Alex Torres took over on the hill.

The 24-year-old righty is 6-4 with a 2.71 earned run average this season.
