Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup series champion Tony Stewart was reportedly injured in a four-car crash Monday night at Southern Iowa Speedway.

The Des Moines Register reports Stewart was leading the 30-lap feature of a race called the Front Row Challenge, but with five laps left Josh Higday's car was involved in a wreck with the cars of Stewart, Tasker Phillips and Tony Shilling.

The newspaper said Stewart was put on a stretcher and taken by ambulance, but that he was conscious and talking to reporters. The newspaper, citing track officials and several drivers, said Stewart suffered a leg injury.

Stewart has one victory this season, at the June 2 event at Dover. He's currently 11th in the season points standings.
