Martin jumps four clear in Pennsylvania

Canonsburg, PA – Ben Martin carded his second straight 4- under 67 on Saturday to move four strokes clear of the field after three rounds of the Mylan Classic.

Martin, who earned his first tour win earlier this season, finished 54 holes at 13-under-par 200. His total of 200 matched the tournament record that Gary Christian, Kevin Kisner and John Mallinger set in 2011.

Second-round leader Whee Kim stumbled to a 2-over 73 and fell into second place at minus-9 at Southpointe Golf Club.

Dustin Garza posted a 3-under 68 to move into a share of third place at 7- under-par 206. He was joined there by Brad Elder (70) and IJ Jang (71).

Ariel Canete carded a 5-under 66 to move into a tie for sixth at minus-6. He stands alongside Chad Collins (69), Billy Hurley III (69), Kevin Kim (72) and Peter Malnati (69).

Kim led Martin by two at the start of the round. Martin birdied the second to get within one, then traded a bogey for a birdie from the fourth.

The duo exchanged spots atop the leaderboard at the seventh, where Martin moved to minus-11 with a birdie and Kim slipped to 10-under with a bogey. Martin pushed his lead to two with a birdie at the par-5 eighth.

Kim stumbled to a bogey at the 10th and Martin followed with a birdie on 11. He was suddenly four clear. Kim dipped five back as he bogeyed the par-5 13th.

The pair both made birdie at 14, and Martin made it two in row with a birdie on 15. Martin and Kim bogeyed the 17th.

Martin led by six on the 18th tee, but he stumbled to his second bogey in a row, while Kim closed with a birdie to cut his deficit to four.

"You could score out there today. I played good. It's a bitter taste after the last two holes because I've been finishing off my rounds pretty well this year. That was kind of abnormal," Martin said of his closing bogeys. "It's a lot of fun out there making birdies. I just really enjoy being out there and having a chance to win. That's why we play, to be up on the leaderboard."

NOTES: Martin, whose win came at the United Leasing Championship at Victoria National Golf Club, owns the 54-hole lead for the first time on the Web.com Tour ... Kim, a tour rookie, had missed the cut in five of his last six starts.
