Mark Sanchez feels as though he's having a "great camp" as he tries to hold off rookie Geno Smith for the New York Jets' starting quarterback job.

Sanchez, entering his fifth season, is in a tightly contested competition with Smith at training camp, but says Friday that he feels "strong, I feel accurate, I feel like I'm in command. So I've just got to keep playing."

Smith, the team's second-round pick out of West Virginia, thinks he is "at least close to where I should be."

Both had solid practices Friday, each throwing a touchdown pass during goal-line situations — the Jets' first session this summer that included tackling.

The two quarterbacks will be the main attraction Saturday night during the team's scrimmage, when the Jets practice game-like situations.
