The Atlanta Hawks have claimed forward/center Gustavo Ayon off waivers from the Milwaukee Bucks.
Ayon was waived by Milwaukee on July 25 after appearing in 12 games for the Bucks. He was acquired from Orlando in February and averaged 3.7 points with 3.6 rebounds in a combined 55 games last season.
"Gustavo has a high basketball IQ and is a hard-nosed player," said Hawks general manager Danny Ferry in a statement Monday. "He gives us quality depth at the power forward and center positions."
The 28-year-old native of Mexico has appeared in 109 games over two seasons with New Orleans, Orlando and Milwaukee. He has career averages of 4.8 points and 4.3 rebounds.
