St. Louis, MO – The Philadelphia Phillies placed left- handed reliever Joe Savery on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday due to stiffness in his throwing elbow.
Savery has appeared in 10 games this season, going 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA. Over 13 innings he's allowed eight hits, walked nine and struck out six.
To fill the vacated roster spot, Philadelphia recalled lefty Raul Valdes from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
