The Baltimore Orioles bolstered their bullpen on Tuesday by acquiring right-hander Francisco Rodriguez from the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league infielder Nick Delmonico.
The 31-year-old Rodriguez is 1-1 with a 1.09 ERA and 10 saves in 25 games this season, his third with Milwaukee. In 707 games, all in relief, for the Angels, Mets and Milwaukee, he has a record of 39-35 with 304 saves and a 2.64 ERA. His 304 career saves tie Jeff Montgomery for 21st on the all-time Major League list.
Rodriguez is unscored upon in 22 of his 25 appearances this season.
The 21-year-old Delmonico was selected by the Orioles in the sixth round of the 2011 draft. He batted .244 with 13 home runs and 30 RBI in 60 games with Class-A Frederick this season.
