The Denver Broncos released linebacker Joe Mays on Tuesday.

Mays started 21-of-24 regular-season games played for the Broncos during the last three seasons, totaling 124 tackles, with 1/2 sack.

Mays was selected by Philadelphia in the sixth round (200th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft and played two seasons for the Eagles before being acquired by the Broncos in a trade in 2010.

In five NFL seasons, Mays played in 47 regular-season games with 22 starts and recorded 131 tackles.
