The Phoenix Coyotes signed David Rundblad to a two-year contract on Monday.

Rundblad, 22, saw action in just eight games with Phoenix last season. In 50 games for the Coyotes' AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, the Swede led all the team's defensemen with 39 points and ranked second on the club with 30 assists.

Selected by St. Louis in the first round (17th overall) of the 2009 draft, Rundblad has totaled one goal and seven assists in 38 career NHL games with Ottawa and Phoenix.

The Coyotes also signed defenseman Mark Louis to a two-year, two-way contract, while agreeing to terms on one-year, two-way contracts with forwards Brett Hextall and Brandon McMillan and defenseman Mathieu Brodeur.
