The San Francisco 49ers announced on Saturday that several of their players will not be ready for the start of training camp, including wide receiver Mario Manningham.

The team placed Manningham, fellow wideout Kyle Williams, running back Kendall Hunter and linebacker Darius Fleming on the active/physically unable to perform list.

Manningham is coming off multiple knee surgeries, while Williams is coming back from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

San Francisco also designated rookie running back Marcus Lattimore, defensive tackles Tank Carradine and Quinton Dial and tackle Luke Marquardt for the non- football injury list.

Lattimore, the team's fourth-round draft pick, was expected to land on the list as he attempts to comeback from a gruesome knee injury that ended his collegiate career at South Carolina. Carradine, a second-round selection (40th overall) in April's draft, is making his way back from a torn ACL he suffered while playing for Florida State last November.

Players on either list count against the 90-man roster limit, but can be activated any time before the final cuts of training camp.
