The Edmonton Oilers signed defenseman Denis Grebeshkov to a one-year contract on Thursday.
Grebeshkov had spent the past three seasons playing in his native Russia. He left North America to play in the KHL following the 2009-10 season.
In 227 career NHL games with the Kings, Islanders, Oilers and Predators, Grebeshkov has 17 goals and 67 assists. The 29-year-old was selected by Los Angeles in the first round of the 2002 NHL Draft.
