James Hinchcliffe can't shake slump on 1st day of hometown race in Toronto

A trip home hasn't helped James Hinchcliffe's most recent slump.

Hinchcliffe has failed to advance out of the first round of qualifying in his hometown of Toronto. He's now scheduled to start 14th in Saturday's race.

It seems it's either feast or famine for Hinchcliffe in races this year, and he's coming off one of his poorest outings of the season. He started on the front row of Sunday's race at Pocono but crashed in the first turn of the first lap.

Hinchcliffe has finished either first or last in six of the 11 races this season.

He's hoping to have a strong showing through the streets of Toronto, where IndyCar will run a doubleheader event with races on Saturday and Sunday.
