The San Antonio Spurs signed guard Marco Belinelli to an undisclosed contract on Thursday.

The deal was earlier reported to be worth $6 million over two seasons by Yahoo! Sports.

Belinelli comes to the defending Western Conference champions after spending last season with the Chicago Bulls, where the native Italian averaged 9.6 points, 2.0 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 73 games as a key reserve.

Selected by Golden State with the 18th overall pick of the 2007 draft, Belinelli has averaged 9.0 points and shot 38.7 percent from 3-point range over six seasons with the Warriors, Toronto, New Orleans and Chicago.

Belinelli's addition may lessen the chances of the Spurs bringing back guard Gary Neal, a restricted free agent who averaged 9.7 points and shot nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc over his three seasons in San Antonio.
