The St. Louis Cardinals traded right-handed pitcher Mitchell Boggs to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for the Rockies' international signing bonus slot No. 4.

Boggs, who was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on May 31, has struggled this season. In 18 appearances with St. Louis, he was 0-3 with an 11.05 ERA and converted 2-of-5 save opportunities.

"We wish Mitchell all the best with Colorado," said Cardinals senior vice president/general manager John Mozeliak. "He is a tremendous individual who provided many contributions to the organization's success."

The 29-year-old Boggs is 13-15 with a 4.15 ERA in 232 games (15 starts) over five-plus seasons with the Cardinals, and won a World Series championship in 2011.
