The St. Louis Blues and free agent center Derek Roy have agreed to terms on a one-year contract, the team announced Saturday.

The deal, which is worth $4 million according to multiple reports, is pending a physical exam.

A nine-year NHL veteran, Roy split last season with the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks and finished with seven goals and 21 assists over a combined 42 games. The 30-year-old has accumulated 168 goals and 287 assists over 591 overall contests during his tenure in the league, the majority of which was spent with the Buffalo Sabres.

Roy's best season came in 2007-08, when he posted career bests of 32 goals and 81 points with the Sabres. The Ontario native followed with 28 goals and 70 points the subsequent campaign.
