Uniondale, NY – The New York Islanders brought back goaltender Evgeni Nabokov with a one-year contract Friday.
No financial terms were disclosed, but Newsday reported it is worth $3.25 million.
Nabokov, 37, helped the Islanders to their first playoff berth since 2007 by going 23-11-7 with a 2.50 goals-against average and three shutouts over 41 regular-season appearances.
Originally taken in the ninth round of the 1994 draft by San Jose, Nabokov has racked up a 335-207-76 record with a 2.41 GAA and 55 clean sheets over 646 games in 12 NHL seasons.
