The Atlanta Braves activated pitcher Luis Ayala from the 15-day disabled list on Friday prior to their contest with the Philadelphia Phillies.

An anxiety disorder has kept Ayala sidelined for over a month. He has not pitched in a game since April 24.

The 35-year-old right-handed reliever was acquired by Atlanta in an April 10 trade with the Baltimore Orioles. He made five appearances with the Braves prior to landing on the disabled list.

Ayala has posted a 1-1 record with a 5.40 earned run average in seven games with the Braves and Orioles this season.

To make room on the roster, Atlanta optioned pitcher Cory Gearrin to Triple-A Gwinnett.
