Open wheel racing is back at Pocono Raceway.
Marco Andretti, Dario Franchitti and Helio Castroneves were among the IndyCar Series drivers to take practice laps Thursday at the track.
They hit the triangle track to prepare for Sunday's 400-mile race. It will be the first IndyCar at Pocono event since the race won by Danny Sullivan Aug. 20, 1989.
Track CEO Brandon Igdalsky says enthusiasm in the area is high for the return of open wheel racing.
