Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Brittney Griner had 18 points, eight rebounds and six blocks as the Phoenix Mercury defeated the New York Liberty, 78-63, on Saturday night.
Diana Taurasi posted 15 points, 10 assists and five rebounds for Phoenix, which tied the second longest winning streak in WNBA history with its 15th straight win.
The Mercury are three victories away from matching the all-time mark set by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2001.
Tina Charles netted 20 points to go with seven boards for the Liberty, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.
Phoenix, which took a 47-30 lead into the break, was never seriously threatened and led by as many as 20 in the triumph.
