LONDON – Andy Murray rallied from two sets down Wednesday to beat Fernando Verdasco and reach the Wimbledon semifinals.
Murray, who lost to Roger Federer in last year's final at the All England Club, won 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 7-5.
Murray became the first British man since 1938 to reach the Wimbledon final last year. A few weeks later, Murray beat Federer to win the Olympic gold medal on the same court, and then defeated Novak Djokovic to win his first major title at the U.S. Open.
His victory in New York was the first Grand Slam singles title for a British man since Fred Perry in 1936.
