The Indiana Pacers have made an addition to their coaching staff, naming Nate McMillan as an associate head coach to Frank Vogel.

McMillan fills the void left by Brian Shaw, who left for the head coaching position with the Denver Nuggets after spending two seasons with the club.

Vogel will get a valuable resource in McMillan, who brings 12 years of head coaching experience, as well as 12 years of NBA playing experience.

"We are extremely thrilled to have Nate join our staff," said Vogel. "To get someone with his experience as a player and a coach will be extremely valuable to our players, to our staff and to our franchise."

McMillan spent his entire playing career with the Seattle SuperSonics and became their coach in 2000. He spent five years with the club before taking the head coaching position with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2005.

McMillan was not on the sidelines this past season after being let go by the Blazers in March of 2012.
