Elena Delle Donne of the Chicago Sky and the Phoenix Mercury's Diana Taurasi have been chosen as the WNBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played from June 24-30.

Delle Donne earned the honor for the first time in her career after the rookie sensation averaged 23.0 points in leading the Sky to a pair of victories. The 6-foot-5 forward tallied a career-high 26 points in Chicago's 87-74 decision over the New York Liberty last Wednesday, then put up 20 points along with a personal-best eight rebounds in Saturday's 94-82 triumph over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Taurasi took home the West award for the second time in three weeks after the veteran guard averaged a conference-best 21.0 points along with 7.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds over three games -- each of which were Mercury wins on the road. The 2004 No. 1 overall pick had 26 points and eight assists in Phoenix's 101-97 verdict at Washington this past Thursday.

Others considered for this week's awards were Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry, Indiana's Tamika Catchings, New York's Cappie Pondexter, Washington's Monique Currie, Los Angeles' Candace Parker, Minnesota's Lindsay Whalen and Tulsa's Glory Johnson.
