The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Benn Ferriero and a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft from the New York Rangers in exchange for the rights to defenseman Justin Falk on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Ferriero played in just four games with the Rangers this season, but recorded eight goals and 22 assists in 57 AHL contests with Connecticut and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Falk, chosen by the Wild in fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, is a restricted free agent. The 24-year-old amassed 15 points and 100 penalty minutes in 108 career games with Minnesota.
