Latta, Mystics hold off Shock

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Ivory Latta had 17 points and the Washington Mystics held off the Tulsa Shock, 82-77, on Friday night.

Monique Currie netted all 16 of her points from the foul line (16-of-18) and added nine rebounds for Washington, which has won three straight and five of its last six games.

Skylar Diggins posted 19 points, while Courtney Paris provided 10 points and 16 boards for the Shock, who have dropped 10 of their last 12 contests.

A 16-2 Shock run in the fourth quarter pulled them within 70-69 with 2:19 remaining, but Kia Vaughn and Bria Hartley each sunk a pair of foul shots on back-to-back possessions. Diggins knocked down a short jumper to trim the gap to 74-71 with a minute left, but Kara Lawson nailed a jumper at the other end and Tulsa never made it a one-possession game thereafter.

The Mystics, who never trailed, led 49-37 at the break.
